Thurmont, Maryland is the "center of the universe" of Mason/Dixon-region rides that are possibly the best in America.  Check your map for routes 15, 77, 550 and look at Gettysburg and Hanover Pennsylvania, Maryland's Catoctin Moutains with PenMar and Camp David, the Antietam Battlefield at Sharpsburg; Shepherdstown and Harpers Ferry West Virginia, Brunswick, Point of Rocks and Frederick Maryland...all in a wagonwheel around beautiful Thurmont with its excellent places for brunch or dinner along the main street -- especially featuring the wonderful "Cozy" -- known for hosting Presidents of the United States since 1929.  Thurmont's 'slogan' is: "Gateway to the Mountains."  That could easily be "Gateway to Great Rides."
